University and a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. She lived and worked
in Latin America, focusing on economic development through small business assistance.
Her academic successes also include skipping two grades and beginning college at New York University at the
ripe old age of 16, later graduating Summa Cum Laude from Seattle Pacific University at 20 years old, winning
first place in college-level writing competitions, receiving numerous prestigious and competitive awards,
including a stipend to study Portuguese as her third language (she also speaks Spanish), and earning a
fellowship from the United States government to fund her development work in Latin America.
